Dnipro club in search of a head coach
UAF President Andrey Pavelko commented on the information about the possible appointment of a coach of the youth team of Ukraine Ruslana Rotanya for head coach SC Dnepr-1.
“Now I cannot comment on this, because this is the first time I hear this news through the media. Neither Ruslan himself, nor representatives of the Dnepr-1 football club contacted us on this issue. So it’s very inconvenient to comment on something that might not happen.”
“When there is such a question, we will definitely comment on it. And now it is very important that our youth team coaching staff prepare for important games with Slovakia, which will be very important for Ruslan Rotan’s coaching career, because he will have the opportunity to show his coaching successes at the head of the youth team.”
In the near future, Dnepr-1 may leave the head coach Igor Yovichevich, who is associated with an appointment to Shakhtar. According to journalist Igor Burbas, the Dnipro team is ready to offer Ruslan Rotan the position of team coach.
At the same time, the Dnipro residents are not opposed to combining Rotan’s work in the club and the youth team of Ukraine, which he has been leading since 2018.
Rotan’s coaching experience is limited to working with the youth team and the position of assistant head coach at the Donetsk Olympics.
In September, the youth team of Ukraine under the leadership of Rotan will play with Slovakia in the playoffs of the European Championship qualification.
Dnipro-1 took the third place in the Ukrainian Championship and will play in the playoffs of the qualification of the next Europa League.
