Short-handed Milan lost at home to Juventus and remained in second place

The only goal was scored by ex-Rossoneri player Locatelli

In the central match of the 9th round of the Italian Serie A Milan lost with a minimal score at home Juventus – 0:1.

In the first half, the hosts looked preferable, Olivier Giroud missed a good chance, but defender Malik Tchau ruined the whole game for Stefano Pioli’s team. He brought down Moise Kean, who was running towards the goal, and received a straight red card.

Having gained a numerical advantage, Juventus became more assertive up front. The guests did not create any serious chances, but chance helped – the freshly released Rade Krunic was unsuccessfully substituted for a long-range shot from Manuel Locatelli (ex-Milan player), and 40-year-old Antonio Mirante, playing his first match in two and a half years, was powerless.

In the remaining time, Milan did not find any compelling arguments to open Wojciech Szczesny’s goal. Juventus could have increased the score, but Mirante played flawlessly.

The defeat marked the loss of first place for Milan – Inter returned there. The zebras, having scored 20 points, came close to the Red-Blacks.

Milan has a very difficult schedule. On Wednesday, October 25, Pioli’s team will play away against PSG in the Champions League, and on Sunday they will visit Italian champion Napoli. Juventus will host Verona on October 28.
