Earlier, Kostornaya admitted on that she had said “an excessive number of things” about the refereeing at the Russian Grand Prix in Omsk. The athlete also added that they will have to prove the worth of their relationship with Georgy Kunitsa.

Kostornaya and Kunitsa at the tournament in Omsk scored a total of 192.77 points for two programs and took fourth place. After the performance, the skater said she was unhappy with how her performance in the short program was evaluated, adding that due to the judges’ controversial scores, figure skating is “sinking into a swamp”.

European champion in single skating, Kostornaya switched to pair skating at the start of the year and entered a duo with Kunitsa. In August, the athletes got married.
