Norwegian Olympic champion Astrid Jacobson confessed his unconventional sexual orientation.
“After several days of shock caused by acts of hatred and violence in the streets of Oslo, I realized that I myself could become the object of such nonsense. The fact is that I like a representative of my sex.
I was never ashamed or afraid – I was proud and happy. But before that was only known to those around me. Today I feel vulnerable and alone.
I don’t just think of myself, but also of other people who have experienced that love is unpredictable. I am not afraid. I just want to be open and free and love whoever I want,” Jacobsen wrote on his social media page.
Jacobsen, 35, is the 2018 Olympic women’s ski relay champion and three-time world champion. She announced her retirement in 2020.
