Three-time Olympic champion Irina Rodnina told that the figure skater Alena Kostornaya to no avail, she condemned the judges for bias after her performance in the second stage of the Russian Grand Prix.

On Sunday, Kostornaya and Georgy Kunitsa performed a free program at a tournament in Omsk and received 124.71 points. In total, the couple scored 192.77 points and took fourth place. After the performance, the skater said she was unhappy with how her performance in the short program was evaluated, adding that due to the judges’ controversial scores, figure skating is “sinking into a swamp”.

— We have a golden rule: the athlete and the coach never discuss the work of the judges. For this purpose, there is a team leader, a company, a school, which can submit official applications for consideration of a certain event. According to Kostornaya, we can conclude that she does not know the rules very well. That’s an understatement,” Rodnina told .

On Monday, Kostornaya told that she had said “a lot of things” about refereeing at the Russian Grand Prix in Omsk.
