Mentor Tottenham’s Ange Postecoglou became the first coach in history English Premier Leaguewho managed to score 23 points in the first nine matches.

Let us remind you that yesterday, October 24, Tottenham beat Fulham at home (2:0) and took clear first place in the English championship. Spurs, led by an Australian who had never previously worked in the Premier League (or in the top leagues in general), lost only 4 points in the opening nine rounds.

The 58-year-old Australian specialist took charge of the London club this summer, signing a four-year contract. He has previously worked with Australia (including the 2014 World Cup) and Celtic (treble in 2022/23).

Postecoglou was recognized as the best coach of the Premier League twice in a row – in August and September. Thus, he became the first debutant coach to be recognized as the best coach of the month two times in a row in the history of the league.

Tottenham is two points ahead of Manchester City (the current champion) and Arsenal and three points ahead of Liverpool. In the next – tenth – round, Spurs will face another London derby. On October 27, Postecoglou’s team will play away against Crystal Palace.
