Anfisa Reztsova’s farewell ceremony began in Moscow

Farewell ceremony for the triple Olympic champion Anfisa Reztsova began at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow.

The event takes place on Tuesday in the Great Ritual Hall of the Troekurovsky Cemetery. Participating are family members, relatives, President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Viktor Maigurov, Executive Director of the RBU Alexander Pak, President of the Russian Ski Federation Elena Vyalbe, two-time Olympic champion Sergei Chepikov, the Honored Coach of the USSR and Russia Vladimir Barnashov, the two-time Olympic champion Svetlana Ishmuratova, the winner of the Games Olga Zaitseva, the Minister of Sports of the Moscow region Dmitry Abarenov, as well as other coaches and veterans of skiing and biathlon.

The famous biathlete and skier will be buried in Athletes’ Alley.

Anfisa Reztsova won gold and silver in cross-country skiing at the 1988 Olympics and also won three world championships. In biathlon, the athlete won gold at the 1992 (sprint) and 1994 (relay) Games, and also became a silver medalist at the world championships.

Reztsova died on October 19 at the age of 58.
