The Croatian will help Marino Pusic
51-year-old Croatian coach Mario Stanich joined the coaching staff of Donetsk Shakhtar.
The ex-player of Brugge, Benfica, Parma and Chelsea will be an assistant to the newly appointed Pitmen coach Marino Pusic. In his coaching career, Stanic worked as a scout in Bruges and as a sports advisor in Hajduk, Croatia.
Yesterday, Shakhtar officially announced the appointment of Marino Pusic as head coach. Gornyakov sporting director Dario Srna said that the new coach will be on the coaching bench with him in the match with Barcelona.
Today Shakhtar will play against Barcelona in the third round of the Champions League group stage. The meeting starts at 19:45 Kyiv time. The match will be judged by the Slovak team of referees led by Ivan Kruzljak.
After two rounds of the Champions League, Shakhtar ranks third in Group H with three points. In the UPL standings, the Miners are in third position.
