President of the Russian Snowboard Federation (FSR) Denis Tikhomirov told that he no longer follows the news of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and is not waiting for a decision from its share on the admission of Russians to international competitions.
On Wednesday, FIS council member Erik Röste said the decision to suspend the Russians and Belarusians following a meeting of the organization’s council had been extended for the upcoming season.
— We no longer monitor the FIS and do not expect any decision from it. In our community, no one comments on anything on the sidelines anymore. We are preparing our season, our competitions, focusing on the internal calendar,” Tikhomirov told .
Russians and Belarusians have been suspended from FIS competitions since March 2022 due to the situation in Ukraine.
At the end of March this year, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced recommendations for the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes to international competitions. Recommendations include individual admission, neutral status, banning participation in team sports, and banning the participation of athletes associated with security forces or who have expressed support for the SVO.
