Five-time Olympic champion Johannes Klebo reacted to the decision of the Council of the International Ski Federation (FIS) to approve equal distances in cross-country skiing for men and women.
– I think if women want to run the same distances as men, it’s a fair requirement. But, as I understand it, 78% said they didn’t want the same distances, it was quite the opposite, – quotes Norwegian Klebo xc-ski.de .
On May 25, the FIS Council approved the men’s and women’s distance equation for the World Cup starting in the 2022/23 season. On March 1, the FIS suspended Russians from participating in competitions under the auspices of the organization due to the situation in Ukraine.
