She completed the 1,500 freestyle in 15 minutes and 33.42 seconds. The previous record (15:42.39) belonged to Lor Manod and was set in 2004.
Kirpichnikova, born in Russia, changed her sporting nationality to French in June 2023.
Kirpichnikova is a three-time European short course champion, a short course World Championship silver medalist and a three-time European Championship medalist.
