German coach Markus Kramer who previously worked at Russian team told NRK that after the start of the special operation of the Russian Federation to protect the inhabitants of Donbass, he received many angry messages from his compatriots.
“I don’t know who sends the messages, but they knew who I was. They wrote crazy messages like: “we hate you because you work in a Russian team” and others. I was really shocked by this. I don’t understand. I work for sports, not for the Russian army.
When it was decided that the Russian team was over, it suddenly stopped. But especially at the beginning there were really ugly messages. I couldn’t even show them to my wife,” Kramer said.
The specialist worked in the Russian national team from September 2015 to March 2022. The International Ski Federation (FIS) in March suspended the Russians from participating in competitions under its auspices until the end of the 2021/22 season because of the situation in Ukraine.
