European Aquatics cannot yet announce a new venue for the 2024 European Swimming Championships, which Kazan was initially supposed to host.
According to the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), European Aquatics (formerly LEN – “” note) revoked the right to host this tournament from Kazan due to the situation in Ukraine.
— The current political situation in Europe has led to an unexpected delay in announcing the time and location of the 2024 European Swimming Championships. Discussions are at an advanced stage and European Aquatics is actively working to finalize the agreement. We would like to announce the dates first to make the planning process easier, and shortly after we will announce the tournament organizer.
We ask for the understanding of national federations, athletes and other interested parties and are confident that we will be able to make an announcement very soon,” reports the press service of European Aquatics.
