Russian figure skaters Alexandra Stepanova And Ivan Boukine after winning the rhythm dance on the stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Krasnoyarsk, they talked about nervousness before the start, changes in the program and their physical form.
The couple received 87.26 points for their performance. Second place went to Elizaveta Shanaeva and Pavel Drozd (79.61 points), third place went to Annabel Morozov and Igor Eremenko (76.13)
Boukine: For us, the time without competition passed quickly. When we went out, we were nervous and worried. I missed that. This feeling of nervousness before departure is exclusive, you will not find it anywhere else. Now we have expired, but not for long. Tomorrow we will have disorder and there will be new emotions. But the free program is always easier, because you already get used to this state of nervousness.
Stepanova: As for our rental, there have been quite a few changes. Moreover, even before this beginning, we thought about changing the nature of the dance. We realized that it was a little different from our condition. And a lot of changes happened in terms of elements: we redid the support, part of the samba, the beginning changed.
Boukine: The heart of the program remains, namely the choreography at the top has changed a lot. This is a joyful change for us, because we have finally started to feel freer in our lives and in our mood. But there is always room for improvement.
This rental is in average condition for the season. We want to work on it and I think we will approach the Russian Championship in good shape. How much weight have I lost? It’s no secret, I lost 4 kg in one month. I hope I will lose another 4 kg,” reports the press service of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR).
