Athletistic / Cybersport. The Russian team Team Spirit became the winner of The International 2023 last night. The tournament is considered the Dota 2 world championship.
The Dragons earned just over $1.4 million by winning the tournament. In the grand final, Team Spirit defeated Canadian team Gladiators on three maps with a score of 3–0. The composition of Team Spirit at TI 12: Yaroslav Miposhka Naydenov, Denis larl Sigitov and Magomed Collapse Khalilov (all from Russia), as well as Ilya Yatoro Mulyarchuk and Miroslav Mira Kolpakov (both from Ukraine).
Note that Gladiators also features a Russian, Anton Dyrachyo Shkredov. The tournament runner-up in 2023 won nearly $378,000.
Another Russian team, BetBoom Team, took 5th and 6th places and will receive a little over $102,000 from the organizers of TI, while the total prize money of the tournament amounted to a little over 3.1 million dollars, which is the worst figure in the last 9 years.
