Tyson is ready to fight with Alexander for the title of absolute world champion
WBC heavyweight belt holder Tyson Fury stated that the fight for the title of absolute champion with the world champion WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO Alexander Usik will become the “fight of the century.”
Fury also commented on the victory over Francis Ngannou. The Gypsy King admitted that he failed to demonstrate his best qualities in the ring.
“It was hard to call it one of my best performances. It was not the old Tyson Fury in the ring. Still, you do what you have to do and move on to the next stage. I have some bruises, but nothing serious. I’ll just leave it at that, get some rest and go back to the gym.”
“Usyk, get ready. We will stage the greatest fight of our generation. “The fight of the century for the undisputed championship,” Fury added.
Fury defeated Ngannou via split decision. At the same time, the ex-UFC champion knocked Tyson down in the third round, but the Briton managed to return to the fight.
The fight between the Ukrainian and British champions, who signed a contract for the fight for the title of absolute world champion, is planned to be held on December 23 or January 2024 in Saudi Arabia.
The contract for the fight for the absolute heavyweight title between Usik and Fury contains a rematch clause. The clause applies to both boxers; the loser can initiate a re-fight.
