Ilya won his eighth victory in his last nine matches
Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko advanced to the main draw of the tournament ATP Challenger Tour 75 in Italian Bergamo.
In the qualifying final, the second racket of Ukraine faced the Frenchman Kenny de Schepper. Ilya defeated his opponent in two sets, spending an hour and a half on it.
In the first game, the opponent took the lead four times, but at the decisive moment the Ukrainian made a break and did not miss his chance – 6:4. The second set was even more intense. The score reached 5:5, and then Ilya again won on his opponent’s serve, after which he converted the match point on the second attempt.
Earlier, in the qualification of this challenger, Ilya beat the Italian Leonardo Borrelli. And before that, he became a triumphant tournament in Hamburg. Thus, the 36-year-old Ukrainian has eight victories in his last nine fights.
