Russian junior champion Katharina Gerboldt admitted that the figure skater Maya Khromykh who returned to the ice after an injury, is not in the best moral state.
On Sunday, Khromykh, at the stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Krasnoyarsk, scored 131.16 points in the free program and 193.22 points in total, taking the final fifth place. For 17-year-old Maya Khromykh, these competitions were the first in the last 1.5 years – the athlete was recovering from an injury.
– You know, it happens when during certain competitions everything does not go well, even despite the preparation – it happens. In any case, she had a break, which apparently was felt, there was some kind of pressure. I don’t think she can’t do all that, she has shown more than once that she can do everything. Maybe I’m not even in good shape morally yet, rather than physically. I think if she continues to believe in herself and her coaching team, then she will succeed,” Gerboldt quoted Gazeta.Ru as saying.
