Six times world swimming champion Yulia Efimova achieved the best time in the 200 meter breaststroke at the qualifying tournament for the Russian Short Course Championships in Astrakhan.
The 31-year-old’s time was 2 minutes 26.07 seconds.
Efimova also competed in the 50 meter backstroke and posted a result of 30.50 seconds.
The world record holder in the 200 m breaststroke in short course (2:14.57) is the American Rebecca Soni, who set this time in 2009. The best world result of the current season is the Czech Kristina Gorska ( 2:20,43).
previously reported that Efimova will participate in competitions in Astrakhan (October 30 – November 2) in six distances: three breaststroke distances, 50 m butterfly, 100 m medley, 50 m backstroke.
