The Ukrainian reached the second round of the competition
Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva made it to the second round of the tournament WTA 125 in American Midland.
In the opening match, Julia met Sophie Chang from the USA. The Ukrainian beat the American tennis player in three sets, spending one hour and 45 minutes on the match.
Starodubtseva took the lead at the beginning of the meeting, but lost her advantage and lost the first game. In the next two sets, Yulia crushed her opponent, giving the American only one game.
Starodubtseva won her debut victory in the main draw of a WTA level tournament. Previously, the Ukrainian lost in the qualifications of the WTA 500 tournament in San Diego and the US Open 2023. In October, Yulia won the ITF W60 tournament in the American Rancho Santa Fe in singles and doubles.
