Alexander Bolshunov may miss Pyeongchang Olympics, skier’s father says

Alexander Bolshunov could miss the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang for health reasons, the father of Russian national team skier Alexander Bolshunov Sr. said.

Bolshunov won three silver medals at the South Korean Olympics (in team sprint, relay and marathon) and bronze in classic sprint.

— There was a time, for example, before the 2018 Olympics, when he was hospitalized. No one took responsibility for making the decision whether or not to go to Pyeongchang. I got to the hospital, and he didn’t even say how bad he was! I barely found him then to chat. I looked at him – he already looked completely normal, I know my son inside and out. And he told her, “Sasha, you need to start moving. He then went to the final training camp, and then to the Olympics,” Bolshunov Sr. was quoted as saying by “Championship”.
