Krasyuk: If Fury is really injured, let him confirm his injury

As the promoter noted, if it makes no difference when exactly Tyson loses to Usik, then there is no point in postponing the fight

Alexander Krasyukpromoter of the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Alexandra Usikasaid that the Ukrainian side is not against postponing his fight with the WBC world champion Tyson Fury from December 23 to a later date, but this requires a good reason.

“We have a date in the contract, but okay, we are reasonable people. If he’s really injured and really unable to fight, well, that can happen to any fighter.”

“It has to be done correctly. If he is truly injured, then there is some kind of medical procedure to confirm his injury. Then it’s probably normal.”

“If they just don’t want to fight Usyk because Tyson is weak and they don’t want to take risks, then it seems unreasonable to me. Do you know why? What’s the difference between losing to Usyk on December 23, losing to Usyk on January 17, or losing to Usyk on, say, February 13? There is no significant difference. The sooner the better,” concluded Krasyuk.

Let us remind you that on the night of October 29, Fury defeated ex-UFC champion Francis Ngannou and won the Riyadh champion title. The fight, according to boxing rules, lasted all the allotted 10 rounds, as a result of which two judges gave the victory to Fury, one to Ngannou. In the third round, Francis knocked down Tyson, but the Briton managed to return to the fight.

After the fight, promoter Frank Warren drew attention to the cut received by the “Gypsy King”, because of which it was “useless” to immediately schedule a unification fight. The promoter later suggested that it was almost certain that Fury and Usyk would fight in early 2024.

At the same time, the Ukrainian champion insists that, according to the contract, the fight should take place in December. Krasyuk also previously said that the British would not be able to avoid the agreed date.
