Six times world swimming champion Yulia Efimova achieved the best time in the 100 meter breaststroke at the qualifying tournament for the Russian Short Course Championship in the Astrakhan region.
The 31-year-old athlete covered the distance in 1 minute 6.53 seconds. The closest pursuer, Anastasia Sorokina, completed the 100 meters in 1 minute and 9.84 seconds.
The world record for this distance in the short course is 1:02.36 (Aliya Atkinson and Ruta Meilutyte).
Efimova also competed in the 50m butterfly, posting a result of exactly 29 seconds. Serafima Fokina swam this distance the best (27.85 seconds).
previously reported that Efimova will participate in competitions in Astrakhan (October 30 – November 2) in six distances: three breaststroke distances, 50 m butterfly, 100 m medley, 50 m backstroke.
