The vice world champion in artistic gymnastics will receive an award from the NOC of Ukraine for the second time in 2023
National Olympic Committee of Ukraine recognized the gymnast Ilya Kovtun the best athlete of Ukraine in October.
Kovtun’s mentor, Irina Gorbacheva (Nadyuk), became the best coach of the month.
In October, Kovtun won a silver medal in the all-around at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, held in Antwerp, Belgium.
For 20-year-old Kovtun, this is not the first such recognition this year. Previously, he became the best athlete of the month in April. Then Ilya won a bronze medal in the individual all-around, took bronze in the horizontal bar, and also became the European champion in parallel bars.
The Ukrainian Gymnastics Federation and the Physical Culture and Sports Society “Ukraine” will also be awarded for preparing the best athlete of October 2023.
