Liverpool won an away victory over Bournemouth in the 1/8 finals match English League Cup – 2:1.
The Reds opened the scoring after half an hour, courtesy of Cody Gakpo. In the second half, the Cherries managed to equalize through the efforts of Justin Kluivert. But Liverpool did not have time to get scared and a few minutes later restored the status quo.
The decisive goal was scored by the substitutes: Alexander-Arnold assisted, Darwin Nunez converted. Bournemouth were by no means hopeless, but the hosts failed to win back again.
Ukrainian defender of Bournemouth Ilya Zabarny already played the full match as usual. This season, the 21-year-old Ukrainian played 12 matches for Cherries in all tournaments, but was not very productive.
The teams will play their next matches over the weekend. Bournemouth will play away against champions Manchester City on November 4. Liverpool travel to Luton the next day.
