Hearn: I advise Joshua to agree to fight Ngannou in December

Wilder is still the priority, but the former UFC champion is a tempting alternative

Famous promoter Eddie Hearnrepresenting the interests of the former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshuaannounced AJ’s readiness to fight with Francis Ngannou.

“We are considering a date of December 23rd. Perhaps I will contact Ngannou’s team and offer them a fight with Anthony. This is not a problem for us.”

“In general, our plan is to fight Wilder in December or January. We’re planning on it, but if Ngannou is willing to face AJ, we won’t mind. If not, we will continue our planned work.”

“I haven’t talked to Anthony yet about a possible fight with Ngannou. But my advice is to immediately agree to the fight with Francis.”

Let us remind you that Ngannou lost to WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury in a fight for the champion of Riyadh. The fight, according to boxing rules, lasted all the allotted 10 rounds, as a result of which two judges gave the victory to Fury, one to Ngannou. In the third round, Francis knocked down Tyson, but the Briton managed to return to the fight.

As a result of the fight, the British boxer received two cuts, which will prevent him from holding a unification fight with WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world champion Alexander Usik on the agreed date of December 23.

Previously, Hearn had already announced his readiness to fight his ward with Ngannou. At the same time, the promoter is inclined to believe that Francis deserved the victory over the “Gypsy King”.

At the same time, Hearn’s promotion company has long been trying to organize a fight between Joshua and the former world heavyweight champion. Deontay Wilder. Negotiations are going hard. The promoter complained that it was impossible to reach an agreement on a date. Eddie later said that the fight would not be his fault and that Wilder himself probably did not want the fight.

At the same time, Deontay’s coach Malik Scott recently said that negotiations are already underway regarding a possible fight between Wilder and Ngannou.

Joshua knocked out Robert Helenius in his last fight, which took place on August 12 in London. Deontay’s last opponent was also Helenius – the American won by knockout in the first round.
