Athletistic/Football. President of the All-Russian Sambo Federation Sergei Eliseev shared his opinion on the position of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) towards Russian and Israeli athletes.

“We have to move forward without paying special attention to it. We are trying to stay in the common community, but at the moment it is difficult. As for Russia, there are no clear rules. What is happening now is limiting certainly our rights,” he said. Eliseev said on Match TV.

Recall that earlier, against the backdrop of the worsening Palestinian-Israeli conflict, the IOC said that athletes should not be held responsible for the actions of their governments and that the organization would closely monitor cases of discrimination. At the same time, the measures applied to Russian athletes are explained by Russia’s violation of the Olympic Charter, according to the IOC.

  • Mamiashvili called the IOC’s statement about the lack of collective responsibility for their government’s actions cynical.
