The third qualifying session was completed early due to severe weather conditions.
Current world champion in Formula 1 Max Verstappen won pole for Brazilian Grand Prix.
The Red Bull driver set the best result at the beginning of the third qualifying segment, completing a lap at Interlagos in 1:10.727 s. Charles Leclerc in a Ferrari lost to him by 0.294 s.
During qualifying, a strong wind began to blow on the circuit, and soon it began to rain. The organizers hung red flags and decided to end the qualifications early. The current results have become final.
The second starting row for the Brazilian Grand Prix will be occupied by Aston Martin drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso. Next are Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), George Russell (Mercedes), Lando Norris (McLaren), Carlos Sainz (Ferrari), Sergio Perez (Red Bull) and Oscar Piastri (McLaren). Let us note that Piastri failed to show the qualifying time in the third segment; his car was carried off the track when it started to rain.
On Saturday, the Interlagos circuit will host sprint qualifying followed by the sprint. The main race of the weekend will take place on Sunday, November 5th. Starts at 19:00.
