The Nikolaev club did not finish the current Second League season
Vice President and Sports Director FC Vast Anton Shimanets stated that in the near future the club will officially change its name to Nikolaev 1920 and will undergo certification for the Second League or the Ukrainian Championship among amateurs.
“We had several options for the development of events. I think now we will finalize everything, as it should be and as we planned. I have registered the trademark, logo and name Vasta. Now I’ll pass this on, and we’ll change the name to Nikolaev-1920.”
“We are running a children’s school of the same name. We will sign three or four more agreements with children’s football schools. We have already agreed with the women’s team. We want to support the girls with uniforms, balls and other equipment. We will also continue to resolve issues regarding infrastructure and transport so that there is a base and a club bus.”
“We will still work on attracting sponsors and investors in order to stabilize the financial condition of the club. And then we will undergo certification for the Second League or the amateur championship. Already under the name Nikolaev-1920,” said Shimanets.
Vast was officially excluded from the Second League of the Ukrainian Championship 2023/24 for repeated failure to appear for a match during the season.
The Nikolaev club did not come to the match with MFK Metallurg-2. Vast received a technical defeat, the Cossacks were credited with a victory with a score of 3:0. Previously, Vast did not arrive for the match of the fourth round of the Second League with Skala 1911, for which he was similarly punished.
Let us remind you that on the day of the match with Metallurg-2, the management of Vasta announced the termination of participation in the Ukrainian Championship. As Sport Arena reported, the PFL did not receive documents from the Nikolaev team about the withdrawal, and the Zaporizhzhya team and the referees were not informed about Vast’s decision and were waiting for the start of the meeting.
Vast occupied the penultimate place in the Second League.
