The Ukrainian scored his first goal at the Toffees’ home stadium in the last round
Ukrainian defender Everton Vitaly Mikolenko commented on the draw with Brighton (1:1) in the 11th round of the Premier League. Mikolenko also spoke separately about his first goal scored this season.
“I’m disappointed, we played well and deserved three points. We were strong and the fans really played their part. I think we were unlucky in the end.”
“But we are growing every week as a team, you can see that. Our fans, I hope, see this too. We work hard together every day in training. I try to play every game with 100 percent, I still want to get better and I work hard every day to keep improving. I want to help my teammates and be successful for this team.”
“The Premier League is a tough league, probably the best in the world. It takes time to adapt, but I have great teammates and I think we are a strong team that plays well. I want to keep trying to contribute to it.”
“It’s an amazing feeling to score at Goodison Park. Two years ago I could not even imagine that I could achieve this. Goals are something I would like to add to my game and I hope this goal is the start of many more achievements for the club.”
The Ukrainian has been playing for Everton since January last year. Mykolenko played his debut goal for the Toffees in May last year: then the Ukrainian’s goal helped Everton beat Leicester.
Everton are in 16th place in the Premier League. In the next round, Sean Dyche’s team will play Crystal Palace on November 11.
