In order to stay in Turin, the defender is ready to take a pay cut
Defender Daniele Rugani close to extending contract with Juventus.
It is reported that for the sake of the opportunity to remain at the Turin club, the 29-year-old football player will agree to reduce his salary, which currently amounts to 3 million euros per year.
Rugani became a Juventus player on a permanent basis in 2015. The Turin club rented him out several times – to Empoli, Cagliari and French Rennes. In total, the central defender played 135 matches for the Old Lady and scored 8 goals. He also has 7 fights in the Italian national team.
Rugani started the current season as a reserve player, but gradually made his way into the first team – he started the last three matches from the first minutes.
Juventus, suspended from European competition, is in second place in Serie A after 11 rounds, two points behind Inter. On November 11, the Bianconeri will play at home with Cagliari, one of Rugani’s former clubs.
