Lunin started for Real against Braga in the Champions League

Kepa’s injury in the pre-match warm-up provided the Ukrainian with an unexpected chance

Ukrainian goalkeeper Andrey Lunin urgently changes Kepu Arrizabalaga in the starting lineup of Real Madrid for the match of the 4th round of the Champions League against Braga.

The Spanish goalkeeper, as usual, had to play from the first minutes, which was certified in the original protocol. But Kepa was suddenly injured during the pre-match warm-up. Thus, the Ukrainian received unplanned playing time.

The 24-year-old Ukrainian will take to the field for the first time since August 19. At the start of the season, Andrei played two matches for the Blancos, one of them was a clean sheet. After this, Arrizabalaga, who came on loan from Chelsea to replace the injured Thibaut Courtois, reliably pushed the ex-goalkeeper of Zarya into the reserves.

Real Madrid won all three opening matches in Group C. Any result in today’s match, other than defeat, will allow Carlo Ancelotti’s team to qualify early for the Champions League playoffs.

The match between Real Madrid and Braga started at 22:00.
