The former Minister of Youth and Sports summed up his work in office
Former Minister of Youth and Sports Vadim Gutzeit summed up his work in the ministerial chair.
“The moment of appointment is only the beginning of the countdown until the moment of resignation, and during this time my team and I accomplished a lot.”
“We preserved sports and youth policy during times of war and war. Two dozen Olympic medals, more than a hundred medals at the Paralympic Games, received today more than 50 licenses for the Paris Olympics. We received 45 medals at the World Games in Birmingham and 41 medals at the European Games in Krakow.”
“We united an international coalition, suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from international competitions, and suspended the Russian Olympic Committee’s membership in the IOC for encroaching on the territorial integrity of Ukraine.”
“Many projects in the field of youth policy, the establishment of Ukrainian civil and national identity, sports rehabilitation of the military, the development of mass sports, etc. We did a lot, although we planned even more.”
“Someone will arrogantly say that we did the wrong thing, but I want to offer one thing to all critics: before you say anything, put on my shoes, try to follow my path, feel proud of your country at the moment when the the anthem and the flag flutter, feel the pain, the fatigue, the despair, trip over every stone I tripped over. And only after that say that you know how to live, work and make decisions correctly.”

Gutzeit has served as Minister of Youth and Sports since March 2020. The other day, Vadim submitted a letter of resignation from his position in the Cabinet of Ministers, after which he announced “manipulations regarding the combination of the positions of the Minister of Sports and the head of the NOC of Ukraine.”
