Former Zenit volleyball player arrested in Moscow for robbery

Former Kazan volleyball player “Zenith” Alexander Khripun was sent to a remand center for two months for a criminal case of large-scale theft, reports TASS.

– By decision of the Gagarinsky District Court of the City of Moscow, a coercive measure in the form of detention for a period of two months, that is, until September 1, 2022, was chosen in respect of of the accused Khripun Alexander Vladimirovich. The lawyer’s request to elect a coercive measure in the form of house arrest was rejected, a representative of the Moscow Gagarinsky court told TASS.

Earlier, Telegram Baza channel reported that Khripun was arrested for extorting 30 million rubles from a Moscow student. For two months, he threatened to post nude photos of her.

According to information on the portal of common law courts of Moscow, Khripun is charged under Art. 161, part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, according to which he is threatened with imprisonment from 6 to 12 years.
