The organization also closed an office in Moscow
European Judo Union (EJU) has extended the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under its auspices.
EJU also announced the closure of its office in Moscow. Now all financial operations of the organization will be carried out by the main office in Vienna.
In February, the International Olympic Committee called on sports organizations to remove athletes and officials from Russia and Belarus from all competitions, as well as to postpone or cancel competitions in aggressor countries in connection with the invasion of Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine.
In June, the International Judo Federation admitted Russian and Belarusian athletes to the Grand Slam tournament in Ulaanbaatar. In response to the decision of the IJF, the Judo Federation of Ukraine refused to participate in all competitions under the auspices of the international organization.
Early on the morning of February 24, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia continues for the 132nd day.
