Sharan: The guys deserve a good mark for playing in the minority

Minaj was once again left without a victory in the UPL

Head coach Minaya Vladimir Sharan commented on his team’s defeat from Kolos in the opening match of the 14th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.

“At first the game seemed to be easy for us. The opponents hardly created chances near our goal. We tried to operate with quick attacks and create chances. But two set pieces… Although we worked on this component, we knew who should play with whom.”

“In the second half we started playing more attacking, but our player was sent off. Although the guys persevered, played aggressively, confidently, and for playing in the ten-on-eleven format they deserve only a good mark.”

Let us remind you that Minaj lost away with a score of 0:2. Kolos players Vadim Milko and Nikita Burda scored both goals with headers after corner kicks.

At the very start of the second half, Minaj remained in the minority – Alexander Melnik was sent off for a second yellow card.

Minaj still finishes the standings with six points and remains winless in the UPL. On November 25, after the international break, Sharan’s team will host the leading Krivbass.
