Athletistic/ Figure skating. The Olympic champion of the 2002 Games in Salt Lake City (USA), Russian figure skater Alexei Yagudin, reacted to the announcement that the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) had completed hearings in the Russian’s case Kamila Valieva. A young athlete is accused of doping ahead of the 2022 Olympic Games in Peikne (China).
“Is there any hope that Camila will win this case? There is always hope!” – Sport-Express quotes Yagudin as saying
It was previously learned that the decision in the Valieva case would be made by the CAS in January 2024.
Kamila Valieva won a gold medal in the team figure skating competition at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing (China). Later it became known that a banned drug, trimetazidine, was found during the doping test of a 15-year-old Russian girl dated December 25, 2021. But since the test results came too late, the athlete could not be suspended from participation in the 2022 Olympic Games.
