Athletistic/ Figure skating. The Director General of the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), Travis Tygart, commented on the delay in the case of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva.
Previously, the athlete was accused of doping. The verdict should be announced at the end of January 2024.
“Everyone deserves a fair verdict. It’s a shame that this sad story will never end,” Tygart was quoted as saying by USA Today.
Valieva is the 2022 European figure skating champion. During the 2022 Beijing Olympics, Kamila was accused of violating anti-doping rules. The 15-year-old figure skater was still able to perform in single skating, but took 4th place. In the team tournament, she helped Russia win gold, but the award never came.
