“The most interesting things are yet to come. Gorbachev will jump quadruples in the free program” – Gerboldt on Valieva’s victory in the short program

Russian junior champion 2008 Katarina Gerboldt told that the most interesting thing in women’s skating at the stage of the Russian Grand Prix in Kazan is yet to come.

On Saturday, Kamila Valieva won the short program during the Russian Grand Prix stage in Kazan. She received 81.09 points from the judges. Second place went to Sofya Muravyova (77.02), third – Alina Gorbacheva (73.29).

— Did Valieva’s victory in the short program raise any questions? It’s a sport, there are always questions here. Yes, Valieva, as expected, became the leader after the short program, but the free program is ahead. Let’s see what elements Kamila will do in the free program. The same Gorbacheva, third, will skate with quadruple jumps. I think the most interesting is yet to come.

Overall, I really like Valieva’s short program this year. I think it suits her, she looks very feminine and advantageous,” Gerboldt told .

The Russian Grand Prix stage in Kazan will take place on November 11-12.
