The decision of the International Ski Federation (FIS) to extend the suspension of Russian athletes until the fall will not be appealed, the head coach of the Russian cross-country ski team has said. Yuri Borodavko .
The FIS announced on Tuesday the extension of the suspension of Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under its auspices until the end of the summer season.
– The decision of the FIS did not surprise anyone – everyone was ready. It was expected and predictable, so everyone reacted pretty calmly to that. As for the possible contestation of the decision, it will not be contested. We will wait for the final decision, which will be taken at the congress at the end of September – beginning of October, Borodavko said in an interview with the Championship.
In March, the FIS followed the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and announced that representatives from Russia and Belarus would not be allowed to participate in international tournaments until the end of the 2021/22 season.
