Belarusian coach – about FC Lviv and the next season of the Ukrainian championship
Main coach FC Lviv Oleg Dulub spoke about the plans to prepare the team for the new season of the championship of Ukraine and about the work of the club in the transfer market.
– On July 9, we will hold the first sparring – with amateurs from Kormila (Davydov), who play in the championship of the Lviv region. In a week we will go to Uzhgorod, where we will play with Minay. On July 20, Lviv is scheduled to have a test match with the champion of the Lviv region – Yunost (Verkhnyaya Belka), and on the 24th we will play with Veres. Here are the upcoming plans.
– How many players from the squad that played last season were present at the first training sessions?
– 12. We also invited several leaders of the youth team.
— Lviv has always been considered one of the most international teams in the elite division of Ukraine. Are you counting on legionnaires in the new season?
– No, and not because I have some kind of prejudice against them, these are just the current realities. By the way, I remember back in January, while exchanging opinions with the club management, I argued that Lviv needs to bet on Ukrainian football players, since last season legionnaires were not as noticeable as before. However, to be honest, I would not refuse two foreigners whom we signed in February – Issiar Drama and Faruk Miyu. These are high-quality performers, but for a number of reasons they will not be in the team.
– Did you manage to keep the leading players with Ukrainian passports?
“Unfortunately, there were no casualties here either. Aleksey Dovgy expressed a desire to go to Rukh, another veteran, Sergei Politylo, decided to return to Chernomorets. As for Oleksandr Romanchuk, he is now on trial in one of the Polish teams, but it is possible that he will continue his career in Lviv.
In recent weeks, my assistants and I have focused on breeding work. Several potential newcomers are already in our training camp, but it is still difficult to say which of them will be asked to sign a contract. There is still a little time for the experiment, although for all of us it will be the most difficult challenge. After all, calendar matches will have to be held during martial law.
– Has the club management already informed the team about the tasks for the upcoming season?
No, there hasn’t been a discussion on this topic yet. After all, the training process and the staffing of the team are in full swing. In my opinion, the clubs representing Ukraine in European competitions, which will play their official matches abroad and will be able to add several foreign players, will have a certain advantage. This is a serious help, but we are not going to be extras either.

It is expected that the new UPL draw will begin on August 23. The previous season was completed ahead of schedule due to the invasion of Russian troops into the territory of Ukraine. FC Lviv took 12th place in the final standings.
