Athletistic/Figure skating. Famous Russian figure skater Tatiana Navka expressed her opinion regarding the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, despite strict admission requirements.

Previously, the IOC allowed Russians to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games under a neutral status, but subject to a number of requirements.

“I always believe that athletes who have the slightest opportunity should go to the Olympic Games, even if there is no national symbolism. Of course, one should strive to participate, but not cross the line.

What is considered a trait in this case? Don’t abandon your homeland. If conditions are presented that require an open or written waiver of one’s country, then these conditions must be respected accordingly. However, if there is even the slightest opportunity to protect the honor of an athlete and the honor of Russia, it is worth taking advantage of it. Any of our athletes who win the Olympics will become a symbol of our country, despite the absence of a flag, anthem and other national attributes,” Navka said in an interview with a Sport24 correspondent.

The Paris Olympic Games are scheduled from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
