Valieva, who was in the lead after the short program, fell in the free program while performing a quadruple sheepskin coat, and also performed two sequences, which is prohibited by the regulations, and finally became fourth with a score of 213.59 points. The first place was taken by Sofya Muravyova (228.81 points).

— Of course, Kamila Valieva’s fourth place was unexpected for everyone. Although it should be noted that this was far from his best performance. I really liked the short version – an interesting program with sparkle and atmosphere. It was a bit difficult here. It’s obvious that it’s physically difficult for her. The sheepskin coat turned out to be good, she put it on neatly. I literally sat down, but I didn’t have to sit down – it was basically done.

Then the technical rules came into play, two sequences. This cannot be done when the double axel is the last jump. You just can’t do that. Camila did it twice. This is a bit incomprehensible, because among the athletes of the Tutberidze group, everything is usually checked and calculated – a mosquito will not hurt your nose, as far as the levels and the set of elements of the program are concerned.

– The question here is why this was overlooked. Also, these choreographic elements, the choreographic journeys when she is actually sitting on the ice, have been evaluated in such a way that we should not do that. As a result, she lost points again. I don’t understand this point either. In addition, there were preliminary tests of the national team, which were organized in such a way that specialists noted all the problems and eliminated them. They told me what not to do. But sometimes directors and coaches, seeking an external effect, want to stage interesting moments that cannot always be achieved according to the rules.

On the other hand, it’s good that all this happened at the first stage for her. However, for various reasons, she could miss the stage. After all, it’s the start of the season. I think in the future everything will be fixed and deployed. However, it is clear that the short is already easy for her. The free program is still a little difficult, we did not have time to skate it to the end, ”Goncharenko told .

The second stop in the series for Valieva is expected to be the 6th stop in Moscow at the end of November.
