Lugansk residents are stuck in the zone of transition matches
Acting head coach Zari Yuri Koval commented on his team’s defeat from LNZ in the 14th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.
“There were difficulties. Guerrero left for the national team, Yatsik was injured. It was necessary, if possible, to find out the readiness of the players in one training session. We guessed who was tired.”
“When we missed an early goal, the game changed. We needed to go on the attack. There is no implementation.”
“In the second half we simplified the game. Due to the pressure, we managed to equalize the score, but the remaining negative results did not allow us to achieve a positive result. So far the team lacks the winning mentality.”
“We could have lost today, we could have won or drawn. Of course, even a draw wouldn’t suit us.”
“There are no complaints about the players for their dedication. There are tactical problems. But, in my opinion, it’s still more psychological. Changing the coaching staff, even twice, always does not bring stability. Perhaps just some kind of outburst of emotions.”
“Our players have the qualifications and the same mood, so I think such results are a temporary phenomenon, and we will come out of this situation with dignity.”
Let us remind you that Zarya conceded a quick goal in a nominally home match, at the very end they fought back through the efforts of Daniil Alefirenko, but immediately conceded a second time.
This was the first match for the Lugansk team after the dismissal of Valery Kriventsov from the post of head coach. As reported, the team’s sports director, Yuri Koval, will temporarily act as coach.
Having scored 10 points in 12 matches, the Lugansk team enters the international break in 14th place, in the zone of transition matches. The next time Zarya will play in the championship is in December, against Rukh.
