In the final, our epee fencers won a minimal victory over South Korea
Ukrainian women’s epee fencing team won gold medals at the stage World Cup in Legnano, Italy.
The Ukrainian national team at the tournament was represented by Vlada Kharkova, Elena Krivitskaya, Inna Brovko and Joan Faby Bejura.
In the 1/8 finals, the Ukrainians beat Estonia 39:34. In the match for reaching the semi-finals, our team confidently beat the Italian team – 45:36. At the next stage, Ukraine defeated the Hong Kong team (45:40).
In the decisive confrontation, the Ukrainian team met with the South Korean team, the first seed, which included two world champions. The final match ended with a minimal advantage for Ukraine – 41:40.
For the Ukrainian team, this was the first “gold” at the World Cup stages in epee competition since October 2016.
