Athletistic / Figure skating. The team of Russian figure skater, Olympic champion Kamila Valieva, intends to file a protest against the judgment of the free program at the Kazan Grand Prix stage. This is what RIA Novosti reports with reference to its own source.

Valieva was in the lead after the short program, but she ultimately only took fourth place. The figure skater received two penalties in the free skate: for falling from a quadruple sheepskin coat and for a choreography error.

Additionally, the judges reset one of the two sequences for the skater. The rules prohibit doing more than one similar element in a free program.

Valieva posted worst result since 2019 at Kazan Grand Prix stage

At the same time, it is not yet clear what challenge Valieva’s team will face.
