“The judges counted Valieva’s passage on the ice as a fall. There can be no protest against the result.” -Lakernik

The judges counted the passage Kamila Valieva on the ice as a fall during a free program during the Russian Grand Prix stage in Kazan, so it is impossible to protest the result, said the former vice-president of the FFKKR and one of the competition referees Alexander Lakernik.

Valieva, who was in the lead after the short program, fell in the free skate while performing a quadruple shearling coat and finished fourth with a score of 213.59 points. Additionally, one of the two skater sequences was reset, since according to the rules you cannot do more than one of these elements in a free skate. According to RIA Novosti Sport, Valieva’s team plans to file a protest against the results of the free program.

Later, the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) told that Valieva’s team had not yet filed a protest against the results of the free program.

— The judges considered Valieva’s passage on the ice as a fall. She ended up having two falls. And with two drops in the components, we can’t put it above 8.75. There can be no protest against the result,” reports a correspondent, reporting Lakernik’s comments.
