Meret, Calabria and Toloi will not play for Italy in the Euro 2024 qualifying matches in November

Players have minor injuries

Head coach of the national team Italy Luciano Spalletti will not be able to count on three players in the final qualifying matches for Euro 2024.

Due to injuries, the Napoli goalkeeper will not arrive at the national team camp Alex Meretas well as defenders Davide Calabria (Milan) and Rafael Toloi (Atalanta). At the same time, for Toloi and Calabria this was the first call-up to the national team under the leadership of Spalletti.

Let us remind you that the injured Lorenzo Pellegrini and Mattia Zaccagni will not play for the national team in November. Also not called up is Ciro Immobile, Squadra Azzurra’s top scorer in the current convocation.

The Italian national team in qualifying group C (England from there has already qualified for the Euro ahead of schedule) is three points behind second-placed Ukraine, having a match in hand. For second place in the remaining matches, with North Macedonia at home and Ukraine in Leverkusen, Luciano Spalletti’s team needs to take four points.

Italy will play North Macedonia on November 17. The key match with Ukraine is scheduled for November 20.
