Alexander made it clear what he expects from the unification fight with Tyson Fury
WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO world heavyweight champion Alexander Usik visited the congress World Boxing Council (WBC) in Tashkent (Uzbekistan), where he raised the championship belt of this organization.
“This is my belt,” the Ukrainian said, hinting that he intends to take the title from its current owner, British heavyweight Tyson Fury.
Let us remember that at the end of September it became known that Usik and Fury signed a contract to fight for the undisputed title in the heavyweight category. The fight between Usik and Fury was planned to be organized on December 23, but Tyson will not have time to prepare for this time after the fight with Francis Ngannou. It was reported that the Briton received two cuts in a fight with the former UFC champion.
Usyk and Fury are expected to enter the ring in February 2024. Note that the contract for the fight for the absolute heavyweight title contains a rematch clause.
