– This in itself is an important decision, and it seems to me that it should always inspire respect. The guys have given a lot to the sport, to the country and are absolutely honest. And they just need to say thank you. I really like this couple – Zhenya and Volodya are wonderful guys, very good on a human level. I think their career can definitely be called successful. Of course, the fact that there is no Olympic gold will have a bitter taste. But on the other hand, the guys showed their best skating at the Olympics, and they have nothing to show, ”Averbukh was quoted as saying by TASS.
Recall that at the 2018 and 2022 Olympic Games, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov won silver medals. In the first case, this happened during a team tournament, and in the second – during individual competitions.
